Our Plays in Your Neighborhood

We can bring our full production to your city, group, company, or gathering. No stage, lighting or specialized sound equipment are needed, so hiring us is easier than you think.

Availability

Woman's Will produces two full-length shows per year and can bring them to your city. Choice of plays varies by year, and seasons run approximately July/August and October/November. Call (510) 420-0813 or check this site for exact dates. We are also available year-round for shorter scenes, mini-plays, classes and workshops.

Technical Requirements

We perform both indoors and outdoors, in theaters, parks and non-traditional theater spaces. No stage or special lighting required. We need:

  • Performance area: 14' x 15' or larger
  • Audience area: 15' x 15' or larger
  • Bathroom access for performers and audiences
  • Water or access to drinking fountains
  • Amplified sound required for some plays

 

Promotion

Woman's Will includes your public performance in all our publicity, which includes posters, postcards, website, press releases, press packets, reviews, and articles. We provide posters and postcards to you, send press packets to all press, and help you brainstorm how and where to disseminate event information. Publicity for private events is the responsibility of the presenter, although advice is available from Woman's Will.

Fees

Woman's Will charges a flat fee per performance, with some flexibility for small non-profit presenters. Part of that fee can be raised by post-show hat-passing for donations by the performers or through partnerships with local businesses. Talk to us if you need help with a funding plan.

Scenes and Classes

Mini-Plays

Comic Mini-Plays run approximately 15 minutes and liven up any event.

Short Scenes

For the budget minded, our 5-7 minute scenes are perfect for those moments between courses, during coffee breaks, or just before a big talk.

Fight Scenes

Just like our short scenes, but with fighting words! More bang for your buck. Most scenes are hand-to-hand fighting or fighting with objects you have on hand. One rapier scene and one broadsword scene available for the hard-core among you.

Classes, Workshops, and Company Retreats

One hour or longer, classes of all types are available for performers and non-performers alike. Let Woman's Will introduce your kids to the joys of theater or get your teams working together at your company retreat. See our list of sample classes, or call with a suggestion of your own!

Woman's Will is a professional Shakespeare company that performs with all-female casts, usually in modern dress.
