DID YOU KNOW... (or WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP)
In terms of state arts funding,California ranks last, with 2.7 cents in per capita going to keep the California Arts Council open but not actually dispensing funds to artists or art organizations!
Florida, Michigan, and New York have larger total dollar arts funding budgets than does California, which has the highest population per state and has one of the *world's* largest economies.
Twenty-four of the 50 states have per capita support over $1.25; 12 have more than $2.00 in per capita support.
